Before and After School Care
The Eden Family YMCA offers a “Primetime” childcare program during the school year for rising kindergartners through 5th grade. During the school year, these programs run from 6:00am until school begins for those needing morning care, and from the time school is dismissed until 6:00pm. There is a registration fee of $15.00 (non-refundable) unless your child has participated in a previous child care program sponsored by the YMCA.
Prime Time:
The Primetime rate for “Before School” is $15.00 a week with a $2.00 discount for each additional child from the same family. Children should be brought to the YMCA between 6:00am and 7:00am and meet in the canteen area. There they will play a game, watch cartoons, or review school work with a counselor. The Primetime Children are transported to the school by van.
The “After School” program will be held at the four various elementary school sites in Rockingham County. These sites include: Central, Douglass, Draper, and Leaksville-Spray. At 2:00pm, a Primetime YMCA counselor will go to the school site and remain with the children until they are picked up. Should they have an early release day, the counselors and children remain at the school until pickup time. If it is an inclement weather day or a teacher work day, the children should be brought to the YMCA for the day. The program includes snacks, activities, organized games, arts and crafts, values education, and help with homework.
The After School rate is $35.00 per week with a $2.00 discount for additional children from the same family. If children have not been picked up at the school by 6:00pm, they will be transported to the YMCA by the counselor and a $5.00 late fee will accrue for each 15 increment. Financial assistance is available based on need.
